With hundreds of miles of hiking trails that meander the red rocks of Sedona, it’s no wonder it’s one of the most popular activities in town! Just a short drive from the resort, you will find yourself immersed in some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. For an up-to-date list of hiking trails, visit the Sedona Chamber of Commerce visitor’s center. For some trails, a Red Rock Pass may be required. And, as always-be prepared! Take plenty of water and sunscreen, and pick up a trail map before heading out! Some popular hikes in Sedona include:
West Fork Trail- One of the most popular hikes in Sedona. The trail is marked for the first 3 miles and is a moderate hike to that point. On this trail, you will use stepping stones to cross the small streams and will encounter views of the rugged cliffs above. This is an ideal trail to see the changing fall leaves, since it is lush with natural foliage. You may continue on, however the trail is not marked.
Slide Rock State Park- Offering three mild to moderate 1/4 – 1/3 mile trails that will take you to different scenic outlooks throughout the Park. One of the trails will take you to the Slide Rock Swimming area, featuring the famed rock waterslide.
Coffeepot- This short and relatively flat hike is an easy trek to the base of Coffee Pot’s “spout”, where you’ll find views of Airport Mesa, Cathedral Rock, and Soldier Pass.
Devil’s Bridge- A steeper hike that takes you to the largest natural stone arch in Sedona. A dirt road takes you to the parking area, so a vehicle that can handle rougher terrain is recommended.
